This is our 18th Mersea Island scooter rally, for those that have never been here’s what to expect. 4 music rooms…. the main room with 10 different DJs to entertain you over the weekend, the dark side tent, the Scorcher room and the live music marquee with 3 bands playing each night. Loads of trader stalls on site, games and custom show during Saturday. Plenty of different food vendors and a proper canteen for you to choose …from, late bars, great camping and proper showers/toilets. This year the scooter only camping area has moved to the other side of the camp site, it’s strictly scooters only, no four wheels allowed! There is also the usual family enclosure, the only four wheel vehicles allowed in there will be cars pulling caravans or campervans, absolutely no cars or vans allowed. There is a separate car park for cars and vans.
Advance tickets are available at £15, or you can pay on the gate £20 per person. Children 12 and over pay full price. £5 charge for four wheel vehicles (proceeds go to our local charity The Mersea Lions). Our website is down at the moment and won’t be back up until the 12th August. You can buy tickets via paypal enquiries@colchesterdvlc.co.uk or post a £15 cheque made payable to Colchester DVLC to 92 Lexden Road, West Bergholt, Colchester, Essex, CO6 3BW. Hope we have as good a turnout as last year. I will be there as will my boy and the van will be available for Camping gear, Beer and of course the odd scooter if we get a breakdown. We also need a driver if someones scooter is off the road or they don’t have a scooter and wish to join us. Cheers please reply to this post so we can start to get numbers and will advise as soon as I know the leaving time, subject to tide tables Cheers again Big Stu

  18. Big Andy says:

I here we have been Generously offered not JUST 1 Gazzebo THE SAME AS LAST YEAR, BUT 2 OF THEM. We could end up with our own event going on in side the rally, We have the booze, the seating, tables, and the Music, Just need a bit more Lighting.

    GREEN ARMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. john t says:

10.30 is fine with me.Lets get there as early as possible and let the Magners flow

  20. Big Andy says:

I have a powerfull little battery powered speaker system thats idea for our drinks tent and the music room lol, so if you have a small ipod,, nano or i phone, load up your sounds and you can plug it in (bring some AAA AND AA Bateries though, i will of course but it does eat them!

Has Any one got lights they can bring?

  21. Watch Manager B says:

Yes I was with Daves mate Dave on sunday warching Jason Donovan, Diversity, T-Rexonasauarse, Ska’d 4 Life and confirmed with him that the two zip up tents are available for us.

Sounds like it is going to be a real good bash.

Andy – will christmas tree lights do…. HA HA hA

  22. Big Andy says:

Alan , I would not of owned up to watching Jason Donovan………

Talking of which; fairy lights……… will be good, a glitter disco ball and anything else you wish mate, as long as it works from batteries, but really we could do with a few extra normal lights for the night time after hours drinking and banter.

Do you know when and where we can pick the tents up from?

  23. Watch Manager B says:

Ah Yes – Jason Donovan – Well there was a rumour that he was going to bring one of his girl friends along. Danni did a surprise gig in a pub in somerset the other week. Anyway I didn’t go to see him I went to see the Edwin Starr Band, ASWAD and others really.

I will be seeing Dave’s mate Dave tonight and ask him when is a good time to pick the tents up. I will also ask if he has any portable lighting we can hire off him.

  24. Big Stu says:
